Duntarvie Rottweilers is a small, hobby
SHOW kennel established in 1994. We were situated between the royal and ancient town
of Linlithgow, and the beautiful city of Edinburgh. but we have recently moved
to rural Ayrshire near the small village of Kirkmichael where we are enjoying
the country life.
Although I have only been involved in
showing Rottweilers since 1994, my childhood was spent with many
adored canine companions, German Shepherds (then known as Alsatians) Labrador
Retrievers, and Springer Spaniels, along with a vast assortment of cross breeds
and mongrels, often brought home as waifs and strays to my long suffering
parents.
My mum and dad humored, and encouraged
my affinity with all of these creatures, and as I grew, my love and respect for
animals grew with me. I became involved in many canine activities, working,
obedience, agility, helping in our local kennels and assisting at the local
puppy training classes.
I had read many books, and looked at
many, many pictures of almost every recognized breeds in our country in the
early nineties, but my first memories of the Rottweiler, (in the flesh) was of a
very large male called Tiny who lived near our house. He could be seen every
day, meandering about the village, never on a lead, and always surrounded by
lots of kids, he was the classic gentle giant.
I decided then I would have to find out
more about this wonderful dog.
I began my search for a Rottweiler
companion late 1993, and in 1994, after many visits to puppies, and numerous
conversations with breeders, I found my soul mate. I called her Bo, and little
did I know how much of an impact this bundle of fun was going to have on my
life. Bo became my constant, and much loved companion.
I was encouraged to take my beautiful
girl to some of our local dog shows, and to my delight, the friend I knew as Bo,
became the beautiful show dog know to many as
HARLEMS FATAL ATTRACTION JW
She became the ultimate showgirl, and
loved every minute in the ring, winning many top honors, awarded by some of
this countries most esteemed judges,
Although she was never to carry the
Duntarvie name, she was to become the foundation for Duntarvie Rottweilers.
Like historic Duntarvie Castle, our
foundations are strong, built on some of the best, and strongest bloodlines in
the UK. They are deep rooted in British Rottweiler history, and I have
endeavored to nurture and keep these bloodlines for the future.
Today, in our kennels, I have many
generations going back to Harlem's Fatal Attraction, and her breeding is now
visible in the pedigrees of many other breeders. she has passed on strong minds
and bodies to her progeny, all topped off with superb temperaments, and great
showmanship.
I will be eternally grateful to Celia
and Eric Masson for allowing me the privilege of being owned by this wonderful
girl.
Her legacy will continue for many years, and the precious
memories I have of our wonderful life together will live in my heart until we
meet again

Oct 1994 - Sept 2005
In 2004 we decided to add the very
beautiful Dogue De Bordeaux Jerivindi Magena at Duntarvie to our merry
band. I had been looking for another breed and after 2 years research we decided
on the Dogue De Bordeaux. This was a relatively new breed to the UK and was still
only eligible for competition at shows where Import Register classes were
scheduled Eve has won my heart, she is a delightful animal to live with
and has overjoyed us with her temperament and outstanding success in the show
ring in the UK, Ireland and Europe. This breed will continue to be nurtured here
with us at Duntarvie for many years to come.
In 2007 Eve was to gain her Irish
Champions Title, this was followed by several other titles and she was the UK top Dogue De Bordeaux 2006 and 2007

The Rottweiler will always be the
breed I love, but I have now discovered affection and adoration for the delights
of the Dogue De Bordeaux. Early 2008 I bought a Black Pug male for Jim, who had
fallen in love with a photograph of a black pug owned by a friend in Australia.
Arthur became the delight of the kennels, and was later joined by Harmony and in
2010 they were both joined by the very beautiful Melody

I love these little black diamonds,
the girls are always so busy and Arthur is so easy to live with. More on these
little darlings can be seen on their very own pages.
